Alicia Keys on Obama, Emeli Sandé and her Super Bowl slot

'Girl On Fire' songstress Alicia Keys recently stopped by the KISS FM offices and opened up about meeting Emeli Sandé and her performance at Obama's inauguration ball.

Speaking about the 'Obama's On Fire' remix, she explained that it was a last minute decision: "I was trying to figure out what am I going to do for each performance - how to make it impactful - they asked me if I'd just come and play on the piano and lead the band [...] I get there and there's 22,000 people and here goes me on my piano!"

"I went into 'Obama's On Fire' because it's true! "Everybody knows that Michelle is his girl, together they run the world"! 10 minutes before I thought I should flip that line because it would be cute, and I just wanted to have some fun and do something that would get the crowd engaged [...] and they loved it."

When asked about her impending performance of the U.S. national anthem at the Super Bowl on February 3, Keys admitted that she's made the song her own: "Crazy excited. I feel really good about it because it's going to be a totally different version than anyone's ever done."

"I wanted to do it in a way that only I could do it. I've created the version that only I could do."

The superstar also opened up about meeting Scottish hitmaker Emeli Sandé and "when you collaborate with people you just don't know [...] we just had an instant connection. I was able to discover her music in a very organic way. I could just instantly tell she was a brilliant songwriter."
