Alicia Keys teams up with BlackBerry in new exciting role

Songstress Alicia Keys has been confirmed as a new partner of BlackBerry and joined the company as a Global Creative Director.

The 'Girl On Fire' hitmaker is set to work with app creators, content developers and retailers on projects for the mobile phone giant, and earlier today (January 30) Keys introduced a 'Keep Moving Project' video at the BlackBerry 10's global launch.

BlackBerry President and CEO Thorsten Heins explained that she's a great person to partner with because not only does she believe in the company, she also wants to "empower people" through technology:

"Alicia Keys has come to BlackBerry because she believes in the product and technology, and subscribes to our overriding philosophy to 'Keep Moving' - to empower people through mobile computing and communications."

"We are excited she will be bringing to us her enormous capabilities, as well as a vast network of relationships in the entertainment, social media and business communities, to help shape our brand and grow our business."
