Amelia Lily on 'The X Factor': 'I didn't know who I was and it was so challenging'

'You Bring Me Joy' songstress Amelia Lily has opened up about her time on 'The X Factor' and confessed that she struggled with finding her own identity so found it hard to be an authentic artist.

During a new interview with Digital Spy, she explained that her new music is edgier because she really found her sound after graduating from the TV vocal talent show:

"I would say my new music is more edgy in terms of there's a bit more rock in there."

"I was really young when I went on 'The X Factor', and you're naive when you first get into anything. I was super young, so for me it was challenging."

Lily went onto add that she feels as though she was naive during her time on the show because she had no prior experience: "I didn't really know who I was as a person, never mind an artist. I've had the past year to go away and start from scratch in terms of songs, so it's been really nice for me to find out who I am and what type of music I should be doing."
