'Baby I' songstress Ariana Grande has opened up about her recent split from The Wanted's Nathan Sykes and admitted that while they're no longer together they are still friends. 

During an interview with DJ Showbiz Shell, the beauty explained that they parted ways a "little while ago" but confessed that she has a lot of time for the 'Chasing The Sun' heartthrob:

"We broke up a little while ago, but he's a really good friend. He's so talented. I am so glad to have met him and have a friend like him in my life. He's an amazing person. It was very civil. It was mutual."

Grande then added: "He's such a great person. I adore him and he's so talented."

Back in November, Grande told Notion magazine that she planned to write songs about Sykes because he was such an inspiration to her: "You best believe I'm going to be writing about him! I'm always going to be as honest I want to be. Music is the greatest form of self-expression. I'm the happiest I've ever been and I'm learning a lot of lessons from this relationship."

Sykes, meanwhile, recently admitted that he's written the best song he's ever worked on: "I've literally just written the best song I've ever written in my entire life and I'm recording it. It feels so special."
