Ariana Grande has praised her UK fans after achieving her first No.1 in the country.

The singer's Iggy Azalea collaboration 'Problem' hit the top spot on Sunday (July 6) in what was the UK's first chart to include streaming.

The US star was due to visit the country soon but she informed fans on Twitter that she had to cancel after her grandfather fell ill.

Grande wrote: "Thank u so much UK, just heard the news today....love u more than words.

"Adding on to that... i'll try my hardest to reschedule my trip out there! can't thank u enough for ur understanding during this time. love u."

The singer meanwhile is due to release her second album 'My Everything' later this year.
