Ariana Grande Reveals List of Role Models

Ariana Grande has spoken about some of her role models.

The singer-songwriter might be known for pop music, but it seems her list of inspirations runs a little deeper.

In an interview with Billboard, the US star named the likes of Helena Bonham Carter, India Arie and Freddy Krueger as her influences. Speaking about the latter, Grande said: "I always wanted to have face paint on or be wearing a Freddy Krueger mask, and I would carry a hockey stick around."

She added: "When I was 14, I wanted to make a straight-up, like, India Arie record. Something really soulful."

Speaking meanwhile about the late German singer Marlene Dietrich, Grande said: "I have an obsession with all things vintage and classic and old-school, everything from Marlene Dietrich to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to Connie Francis."
