Vocal powerhouse Ariana Grande is set to be honoured at this year's 2014 Billboard Women in Music Awards, which is due to take place on December 12 in New York City. 

The 'Problem' beauty will be awarded the 2014 Billboard Rising Star title at the ceremony and speaking about the exciting news in a statement, she said: "To be recognised alongside some of the most influential women in the music business is such an incredible honour. Receiving the 'Rising Star' award is truly amazing and I'm extremely grateful!"

Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group, also spoke about Grande's achievement and said: 

"In a watershed year for female recording talent, Ariana Grande has managed to make an indelible mark as a young artist. We're so pleased to award Ariana our Rising Star accolade for 2014, and anxiously await what comes next."
