Ariana Grande on Taylor Swift: 'She gives us all hope'

Vocal sensation Ariana Grande has revealed that the commercial success of Taylor Swift's new album, '1989', is incredibly encouraging to see as an artist because the music industry seems to be struggling with achieving strong sales figures at the moment.

Speaking to Britain's Daily Star newspaper, the beauty explained that watching another singer do well 'gives her hope' and provides some motivation to keep going: "She's doing something incredibly special for pop and I love pop. Her album is actually selling, in a time like this. It gives us all hope."

The 'Problem' hitmaker, meanwhile, is due to perform at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in central London later tonight (December 2) and yesterday she told the press that she was looking forward to having a slumber party with Swift:

"Taylor is really sweet, we are going to have a girl's night in tonight. I want to hang out with the girls before the show. They are dressing me up with the prettiest things. If only I could find some stilts because I'm only 5ft 2 and all those models are six feet."
