Vocal sensation Ariana Grande received the Rising Star award at today's Billboard Women in Music ceremony and she paid tribute to her mother during her acceptance speech. 

As she spoke about her gratitude for having been awarded the prize, Grande explained that both her mum and grandmother are two incredible inspirations to her: "I want to share this honour with two women who inspired me - my mama and my nonna."

"I want to thank my mama for teaching me to work hard - and that behind every successful woman is herself. And I want to thank my nonna for taking me to my first audition and for teaching me to have compassion for the haters."

The beauty concluded her speech by adding that her career shows no signs of slowing down: "I can't wait to do music hopefully forever."

Earlier this week, she revealed that this year has been where people really took her seriously as a performing and recording artist, which means a lot to her: "It just happened so quickly. This year I was really taken seriously as an artist, and it's sort of blown my mind."
