Ariana Grande gets real about what it means to be a feminist

Hitmaker Ariana Grande often speaks out about what she believes in and she has now opened up about the use of the word feminist in today's society.

Talking to Britain's Grazia magazine, the superstar explained that wearing make-up and putting effort into your appearance doesn't disqualify you from considering yourself to be a feminist and these ideas need to be put to rest:

“I’m a woman so I face my fair share of double standards and misogyny and ignorance on a daily basis. A lot of women think of the stereotype that comes with the word ‘feminist’. But there’s not just one type of feminist."

The 'Dangerous Woman' sensation went onto add that there are no limitations and she wishes people would stop creating their own rules for what makes a feminist and what doesn't: "You can be a feminist who gets their hair and make-up done, you can be a feminist who cuts their hair off and doesn’t wear any make-up. Who has lots of sex or who doesn’t. There’s no limit.”

Earlier this week, Grande told the Sunday Times Style magazine that being a woman is difficult because people feel as though they have a right to pass judgement on you:

"Women can be anything. Are you a good girl or a bad girl? No! I’m a good girl, I’m a bad girl, I’m innocent, I’m sexy, I’m smart, I’m funny - I’m everything. Whatever I feel like wearing that day, it doesn’t define me. It defines what mood I’m in. That applies to all women."
