Ariana Grande teams up with Victoria Monét on 'Better Days'

Superstar Ariana Grande and singer-songwriter Victoria Monét have teamed up for a special collaboration entitled 'Better Days', which addresses the violence, hate and murder seen in recent days.

Grande posted a message about the song via Instagram, which explains her involvement: "During this challenging time, we have to remember that the only way we will progress is if the overruling force is #Love."

"Music is a universal language that all of us can feel regardless of colour lines, gender, sexuality, age, race, religion…. it unifies us. We believe we can not fight hate with hate, only love. Just as we can not fight darkness with more darkness. Only Light. Too many precious lives were taken from us this week, this month, this year."

She concluded: "Rest in peace #AltonSterling. Rest in peace #PhilandoCastile #BlackLivesMatter. And the police that were peacefully guarding the #BlackLivesMatter rally in Dallas…. Rest in peace. #LorneAhrens, #MichaelKrol, #MichaelJSmith, #BrentThompson & #PatrickZamarripa. Stay strong and know that better days are coming… #BetterDays by Victoria + Ariana... listen on @VictoriaMonet's soundcloud."

Grande, meanwhile, recently announced that she will be playing the role of Penny in NBC's upcoming production of 'Hairspray Live!' and tweeted:

"Penny has been a dream role since Hairspray opened on Broadway. At 9, I was (and still am) in LOVE w @KerryButlerNyc. hope to make u proud. anyway... I’m so honoured and beyond excited to be a part of this dream cast...... I will for sure pass out at the table read. #HairsprayLive."
