Austin Mahone: 'I'm working towards longevity and want people to see me grow'

Teen singer Austin Mahone has confessed that he doesn't want a quick rise to fame and easy success, and instead hopes to really carve out a name for himself in the music world through hard work and great music.

Speaking to the host at 103.3 AMP radio recently, the heartthrob explained that he is looking towards the future with ambition and the hope of progression because he wants to enjoy a long and fulfilling career:

"I'm working towards longevity, I want people to see growth. I want them to be like, 'wow, I was watching this kid three years ago and now look at him, he's killing it.' That's what I want, I just want my music to grab people."

When asked about his pre-show routine, Mahone admitted that he doesn't have a particular ritual and just likes to warm-up with his dancers and turn up the energy that way: "I just like to get ready and dance - I like to get ready with my dancers... warm my voice up, and go out there and have fun."

Earlier this month, Mahone opened up about progressing as an artist and said there's always something new to learn or a new skill to hone, so he feels as though he is always getting better: "I may not be the best dancer or the best performer right now, but I'm always getting better. Next year I'll be even better than I am now. And the year after that, I'll just keep getting better."
