B.o.B praises Beyoncé's latest album release: 'She showed the world how powerful an artist can be'

'So Good' hitmaker B.o.B has given his opinion on the way vocal superstar Beyoncé released her latest self-titled visual album.

The beauty unveiled 'Beyoncé' in mid-December 2013 with absolutely no promotional campaign or press momentum and shocked her fans by simply making the record available with no prior warning.

Speaking to Billboard.com, he explained that his own third album, entitled 'Underground Luxury', dropped a few days after 'Beyoncé' went on sale and he was amazed at the success she enjoyed considering there was no promotion in place: "It's like, 'Dang, couldn't you have waited for 2014!' It was definitely, like, Whoa.. She showed the world how powerful an artist can be, and at the same time how powerful the Internet is. That's how to end the year, y'know? She ended with a bang."

Referring specifically to 'Underground Luxury', B.o.B confessed that it's a very personal record in terms of how it sounds and the genres employed on the tracklisting: "This album is all about me. I executive-produced it, and I think it turned out the way it did because I needed to say the things I'm saying on this album. I needed to tell my story. I needed to let people know who I am and let people know the thoughts that are on my mind."

He added: "With success sometimes you feel like you're shot out of a cannon and you don't want people to be distracted by the explosion. So I think it's just uncensored. It's unfiltered. It's just about me telling my story."
