Video: Hans Zimmer discusses his work on Planet Earth II

Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer on BBC’s Planet Earth II and composing music to some of the most epic scenes he has ever witnessed. 

Over three years in the making, with 117 filming trips in 40 different countries and a total of 2089 shooting days, the BBC have tested the limits of their intrepid crews. They’ve travelled to some of the world’s most inaccessible places to bring audiences a new perspective on Planet Earth. This time, the show’s music has been composed by Hans Zimmer, the Oscar-winning composer behind Gladiator, Inception, and the Dark Knight trilogy.

In this interview Hans discusses what it was like collaborating with the BBC, working with Sir David Attenborough and composing music to some of the most epic scenes he has ever witnessed.
