Tom Burke as Cormoran Strike and Holliday Grainger as Robin Ellacott return for Strike - Career Of Evil, the third story from the major TV series for BBC One, The Strike Series, based on J.K. Rowling’s best-selling crime novels written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Burke plays Strike, the war veteran turned private detective operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street. Though he’s wounded both physically and psychologically, Strike’s unique insight and his background as an SIB investigator prove crucial in unravelling complex cases. Grainger plays Robin, Strike's assistant. Though she begins as a temporary secretary, managing Strike’s chaotic life, she soon becomes involved with his caseload and begins to see her true potential.

Strike - The Cuckoo’s Calling (3x60) and Strike - The Silkworm (2x60) aired from 26 August and received wide-spread critical praise from both the press and audiences. Strike - Career Of Evil (2x60) is the third instalment to the series.

When a dismembered leg is sent to Strike’s office, it sends both Cormoran's and Robin’s lives into disarray, forcing them to confront ghosts from their pasts. Their partnership reaches breaking point as Robin’s wedding approaches and they disagree about how to ensnare a man who abuses children.

J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts and Elizabeth Kilgarriff executive produce based on a script by Tom Edge, who has also written The Silkworm and is also an executive producer. Charles Sturridge directs and Jackie Larkin produces.

This marks a continuation of the BBC’s relationship with Brontë Film and TV and J.K. Rowling. Brontë Film & TV produced J.K. Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy, a three-part serial, which aired on BBC One in 2015.

The Cuckoo’s Calling was published to critical acclaim in 2013 and went on to be a global bestseller, followed in 2014 by The Silkworm and Career Of Evil in 2015. All three books were number one Sunday Times bestsellers in both hardback and paperback and Little, Brown has sold in total over four million copies worldwide across all editions.
