Bastille have scored their second No.1 album with "Wild World"

Bastille have topped the Official Albums Chart for the second time in their careers.

Dan, Kyle, Chris and Will's second studio album Wild World debuts straight in at Number 1 with combined sales of 36,000, fending off strong competition from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. 

Bastille told OfficialCharts.com: “This feels very surreal. Obviously it’s amazing! This album has been a real labour of love for us… making it has been the one constant through all the madness of the last couple of years.” 

New at Number 2 is the 16th studio album from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds,titled Skeleton Tree. The album is their fourth Top 10 and the five-piece's highest charting release, out-performing 2013's Number 3-peaking Push The Sky Away.

The Beatles gain their 32nd Top 5 album with Live at the Hollywood Bowl, new at 3, and Meat Loaf's 13th studio album Braver Than We Are lands at 4. Last week's Number 1, Cartwheels by Ward Thomas, falls four places to Number 5.

Three more albums are brand new entries in this week's Top 10, the first being KT Tunstall's KIN (7). The fourth Top 10 of KT's career, KIN is her highest charting collection for six years. Twin Atlantic earn their second Top 10 album in GLA at Number 9, and Teenage Fanclub score their best position in 19 years with Here at 10. 

Jack White's Acoustic Recordings - 1998-2016 enters at Number 12, whileWilco's Schmilco finishes the week at Number 25, their career best. Devin Townsend Project also chart higher than they’ve ever managed before -Transcendence is their first UK Top 40 at 26.

Finally, Kanye West's The Life of Pablo returns to the Top 40 (up ten places to Number 39), All Time Low's Straight to DVD 2 - Past, Present and Future is new at 40.
