‘This is a tune! 5/5’ Top of the Pops

'If this single doesn’t get you in the mood for summer, we don’t know what will!’  Teen Now

‘Once you put their good looks aside, it won’t take long for you to discover that this talented group of instrumentalists have incredible harmony, one that you’d be hard-pressed to find from another group.’ MTV IGGY

‘Who needs X Factor eh? Scott Richie, Staz Nair and Luke White are back! The band...are releasing their debut single. And we love it! We always knew these boys had major music skills...and their new song is super catchy.’ COSMO

With comparisons to hit bands The Script and Maroon 5, Times Red are set apart by an honesty and energy that hits you whether watching them perform live, listening to their music, absorbing their lyrics or meeting them in person.

Times Red are regulars on the live music scene, performing energetic live shows with their full band. As well as headlining at this year’s British Grand Prix, the band have also been selected to perform at the Barclaycard British Summer Time Festival in London’s Hyde Park amongst other acts including Jennifer Lopez and Lionel Richie, a major coup for the band whose star is steadily rising.

Following the soft launch of their introductory EP, ‘Just No Good For Me’, in March of this year, ‘Not Listening’ is the band’s eagerly anticipated debut single release - set to be the soundtrack of the summer. The feel-good track, although reminiscent of Bruno Mars, delivers the unmistakable Times Red sound and perfectly showcases the talents of each of the three members.

Scott Ritchie (lead vocal, songwriter and guitar), Staz Nair (supporting vocal, songwriter and keys) and Luke White (supporting vocal, writer and beat-boxer) have developed a great musical chemistry by combining live instruments with tight harmonies.

This song proves there’s much more to these three than their undeniably handsome faces; their vocals, personalities and classic pop song-writing style shine through in ‘Not Listening’, which is set to be a sure-fire hit. The tongue-in-cheek lyrics are set against a summery roots reggae riff which will have listeners hooked from the outset.

After a brief stint on last year’s X Factor, the boys are poised to move on as musicians in their own right. Writing all of their own material whilst learning from the experience that gained them mass exposure, Times Red are ready to release their self-penned songs, with the support of virtual music label R&R Music headed by Eric Nicoli, former CEO of the EMI Group, who was blown away by Times Red when he saw them perform live. The addition of three more musicians to the band’s line up has elevated their live performance even further, creating a fuller sound, unbeatable atmosphere and securing their slots at some of this year’s biggest live music events.

Times Red were awarded the Celebritain Award for ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ earlier this year. The nomination and consequent win in the publicly-voted for competition were a great kick-start to 2013 for the band.

Scott comments on the band’s journey so far: “We have such a good time making and performing our music. And the best part of it all is that people are listening to it and enjoying it, coming to our gigs and getting excited. Music is there to provoke emotion, and that’s the effect it’s having on our audiences right now. That’s living the dream.”

It is perhaps ironic, considering its title, that the band’s official single release will ensure more people are listening to Times Red than ever before and with the boys set to hit the road this month on their UK radio tour you’ll be hearing a lot more of them.
