Black Eyed Peas star Taboo thanks fans for sympathy following brother's death

Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas has posted a message of sincere thanks to his fans around the world for showing support after his brother, Eddie Gomez, tragically passed away.

He posted a message on January 13 to tell his Twitter followers the awful news, although he didn't reveal the cause of his brother's untimely death, and wrote: "I am truly devastated by the death of my older brother, Eddie Gomez. God rest his soul."

He accompanied the tweet with a photograph (shown below) and returned to the social networking page this afternoon to thank people for their support and love during this difficult time:

"My family is touched by the outpouring of sympathy & love during this difficult time. May my bro RIP. He'll be missed."

Bandmate Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel also offered their condolences to Taboo, who replied: "Thanks sis. Much love to you & Josh for reaching out."
