Jon Bon Jovi says writing a hit song is like achieving immortality

Rocker Bon Jovi has opened up about his band's new music and explained that their new record will be their first full album without former guitarist Richie Sambora.

Speaking to CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King, the 'Livin' On A Prayer' star explained that Sambora left the band in 2013 and they don't have a relationship anymore:

"I haven't seen him in over three years. He just didn't show up for work anymore. And that's the truth of the matter. And, you know, life goes on.”

Bon Jovi also likened writing a hit single to achieving immortality, adding: "When I write a song, that's when the magic happens. Having written something that's going to be around long after we're all gone is as close to immortality as we'll ever be."
