Bon Jovi reply to Green Day's 'worst band we've ever played with' claims

'Livin' On A Prayer' rocker Richie Sambora has responded to the recent accusations made by Green Day's Billy Joe Armstrong, in which he described Bon Jovi as the "worst band" he had ever toured with.

Armstrong slammed the iconic rock group and said they were no fun to tour the stage with, but guitarist Richie Sambora told Rolling Stone magazine he has no recollection of performing alongside Green Day anyway so isn't offended by the remarks:

"I have no idea what happened with that, I actually don't recall them opening for us. Either I was incapacitated at that point or I just don't remember it. I'm sorry he had such a bad time."

Green Day's frontman (pictured below) made headlines over the weekend after being admitted to rehab for substance abuse and a statement on the band's official Facebook explained the situation to their fans:

"Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."
