Jon Bon Jovi breaks silence on daughter's overdose: 'We'll get through this tragedy'

'Livin' On A Prayer' rocker Bon Jovi has spoken out about his daughter Stephanie's recent heroin overdose and subsequent arrest in a frank new interview with Fox 11's Courtney Friel.

The 19-year-old was recently taken to hospital after being found unconscious at her Hamilton College dorm room by an ambulance crew and was charged after a controlled substance along with marijuana was found in her possession.

Her father has now opened up about the situation and explained that it's a tragedy: "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don't take it too seriously it's a great way to make a living. And then life goes on. Things happen."

"This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."

The charges against the star's daughter have since been dropped.
