Boy George says there should be a 'cull' of failed singers

Boy George has suggested that the music scene is over saturated.

The singer, who is currently taking part in a Culture Club reunion, told Bang Showbiz that there should be a "cull" of singers and musicians who aren't cutting it.

He said: "There are probably too many people making records. I feel like they should have like a cull every so often to let you throw out clothes like 'it's just not working. Go and do something else'."

Whilst the X Factor is one of the main culprits for creating singers who eventually flop, George added that he finds the TV talent show entertaining.

He said: "I mean it's just brilliant, even the American version is really good, I just think it's the funniest thing. I don't really like those sort of reality shows much but who ever came up with that is so clever."
