Carly Rae Jepsen on trying on Cinderella's slipper: 'It was surprisingly emotional'

'Call Me Maybe' superstar Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed that the first time she tried on Cinderella's slipper she was overcome with emotion.

The Canadian beauty signed up to star as the lead role in Rodgers + Hammerstein's 'Cinderella', which begins on February 4, and explained to MTV News that it has been incredible so far:

"It was surprisingly emotional. I think that it's just such a classic tale and the shoes are so much a focal point to the whole thing and they were like, 'What size are you?' And I was just really happy that the shoe actually fit. I was like it would be a bad omen if my first try, the size is off, but it did fit."

Jepsen added that she has been working so hard in rehearsals that she's even dreaming about the fairy tale story:

"It's a huge learning curve for me, but it's intimidating in a lot of ways as well. It's 24 hours and I sleep, I have dreams about Cinderella. Luckily, I have good people around me."

Jepsen will star in the production for three months.
