Carly Rae Jepsen on Tom Hanks' video cameo: 'He suggested it!'

Songstress Carly Rae Jepsen recently released the music video for 'I Really Like You' and surprised the world by casting Hollywood legend Tom Hanks in the lead role.

Speaking about getting Hanks on board for the project, which currently has 22.3 million hits on YouTube, the Canadian beauty admitted that she couldn't believe how willing he was to be part of the video: "My manager and him are friends and he had mentioned that I was looking for a male lead to play the part of someone unexpected to be singing the song back to me."

Jepsen continued: "Lo and behold, Tom said, 'Well, what about me?' And that was that. We couldn't believe our luck."

She went onto add that the day they shot the video, the weather was terrible and she was impressed by how unaffected Hanks was: "It was the coldest day imaginable and Tom was such a sport. I keep saying, 'I don't even think he knows that he's Tom Hanks'. It was one of the best days of my life."
