Carly Rae Jepsen on Sia collaboration: 'It's kind of a girl anthem'

Canadian sensation Carly Rae Jepsen recently revealed that she collaborated with Sia on a song that features on her forthcoming new album, 'E•MO•TION', and she has now shed more light on the project.

During a new interview with Digital Spy, the 'I Really Like You' hitmaker explained that the track is something of a 'girl anthem' and she's very proud of how it turned out:

"Yes, Sia's fantastic and there's a song that we worked on together with Greg Kurstin that I'm pretty excited to share. It's got a very '80s flair to it, it's kind of girl anthem-y, I think we were going for that."

She went onto add that she feels a little bit of pressure due to the phenomenal success of her breakthrough single 'Call Me Maybe', but she has noticed that it dissipates when she gets back to writing new material:

"I think there was definitely pressure from 'Call Me Maybe', but I hopefully did my best to not let that freeze me or stop me as a writer, because it's an amazing gift and also a massive challenge to come back from a song like that. But I don't feel that pressure now - I did feel it for sure - but I think once I started writing, and getting into the flow of it, where I was pretty sure my album was taking shape, I think a lot of the pressure was weighted off my shoulders... at long last."
