Carly Rae Jepsen busks for cash on the street in video skit

'I Really Like You' hitmaker Carly Rae Jepsen stunned passers by in Santa Monica, California last week when she set up a microphone and began performing her singles on the street.

The singer's busking adventure was captured on camera for comedy site FunnyOrDie.com and it went viral this week.

Jepsen and her musician friend earned a total of $35 (£24), which she donated to another busking duo on the same street. Speaking to the camera at the end of her performance, the 'Call Me Maybe' sensation said: "$35 is dinner, so I figure I'm gonna do this nightly now."

Jepsen, meanwhile, recently stunned as Frenchy in 'Grease: Live' and admitted that being part of the production was a dream come true: "I feel very lucky that I’m somehow getting to split my passions [acting and music] in a really balanced way that I would have dreamed about when I was seven years old."
