Carrie Underwood: 'One Direction should call me if they want to go country'

Country singer Carrie Underwood has given her thoughts on 'The X Factor' and revealed that it's a great experience from which people can build successful careers.

During an interview with the MailOnline, the beauty joked that former finalists One Direction should give her a call if they ever want to try out some material in her genre: "If One Direction ever want to go country, I'm here. You never know, it could happen! I think I should get on the phone to Simon."

Speaking about using the 'X Factor' platform for exposure, the 'Two Black Cadillacs' songstress admitted that even finalists who don't win still have a great opportunity to raise their profiles: "I definitely think it's an opportunity [to go on these shows]. Just because you don't win doesn't mean you won't be successful after. It's real people getting up there and singing. It's really real and raw."

When asked if she could ever fill a judging role on the show, Underwood added: "I feel like it would be really hard to be honest, and I do think a lot of judges lose face, because I think people really need to hear it like it is. I think I'd be too nice."
