Carrie Underwood reveals her 'simple' beauty regime

Songstress Carrie Underwood, who is a spokesperson for cosmetics brand Almay, has revealed that likes to use make-up in a very light way because natural beauty is what shines through.

Speaking to People magazine, the superstar admitted that her new Simply American make-up collection will appeal to anyone who loves the natural look: "Simply American beauty, for me, is about keeping things simple and feeling good about yourself. It doesn't have to be complicated, it's that natural beauty that we all possess."

Back in November, the 'Blown Away' sensation told Us Weekly that she rarely goes without make-up: "I don't think I ever have makeup-free days, to be honest. I wear makeup for me. I don't want to walk by a mirror and feel like I haven't given some sort of effort. I just feel better when I have a little on."

Underwood added that she enjoys doing her own make-up on tour: "When I am on tour, I enjoy doing my own hair and make up. There are just so many people on the road, and it's kind of therapeutic for me to be able to sit on my butt and have all my things, and it's quiet. It's my time to play."
