Princess Productions produce this year's SU2C live fundraising event

Channel 4 has commissioned Princess Productions, part of the Endemol Shine Group to produce the live fundraising event, Stand Up To Cancer. It will return to our screens this October.

On Friday 21st October, Davina McCall, Alan Carr, and Adam Hills will host an unforgettable evening of entertainment to help fund crucial and groundbreaking cancer trails that will transform lives right here in the UK.

Broadcasting live from the beautiful Methodist Central Hall in London, famous faces from the world of comedy, music, and television will come together to bang the Stand Up To Cancer drum.

This year’s live extravaganza will include hilarious sketches, unbelievable music moments and moving, real-life cancer films to remind us why we have all come together to Stand Up To Cancer.

Stand Up To Cancer, sponsored by BT, is a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 to accelerate new cancer treatments and tests to patients and save more lives, more quickly.

1 in 2 of us in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives. Stand Up To Cancer’s pioneering work means that more people will survive cancer. During the show pairs of celebrities will be playing the odds and taking part in hilarious competitive challenges to make the message clear that cancer can be beaten.

Emma Hardy, Princess Productions managing director, said: ‘Since Stand Up To Cancer launched in the UK in 2012 , it’s become the UK’s fastest growing television fundraising event raising over £25 million pounds. We are incredibly proud of winning this commission and partnering with both Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 on such a groundbreaking event.”

Tom Beck, commissioning editor for Live & Events at Channel 4 said: 2016’s live show is shaping up to be an amazing evening of entertainment, and together with Cancer Research UK and Princess, we can’t wait to show the viewers what we have in store. The money raised and research funded through Stand Up To Cancer will ultimately save more lives and we are all incredibly proud of the campaign.’
