Channel 4 today announce Host The Week, an exciting new entertainment commission in which a celebrity guest will unwittingly play both host and hero for one night only.

Scarlett Moffatt will be the first guest host thrust into the limelight to perform in a number of total unrehearsed items. A second and third host will be announced in due course.

Across every show, the host will take on roles in a number of topical sketches as they’re placed into a series of unconventional situations, with no hint at what’s going to take place next. Other items will see them co-host a satirical news show, present their own chat show, and even play host to a game show with real life contestants. Each segment will warmly celebrate the guest host’s life and career whilst also providing topical comedy.

Leading our star through this immersive and adrenaline-charged experience will be our troupe of talented improvisers and character comedians – directed by Tom Parry from award winning sketch group Pappy’s. With surprise celebrity guests, top music acts, singers and dancers – ‘Host The Week’ is a brand new electrifying entertainment experience.

‘Host The Week’ (3 x 60 min) was commissioned by Ed Havard, Channel 4’s Head of Events, Entertainment & Sport and Tom Beck, Head of Live Events and Commissioning Editor for Entertainment. From Tiger Aspect (Murder in Successville, Benidorm), ‘Host The Week’ will be filmed as live in front of a studio audience and will start later this month. The format was created by the Tiger Aspect Entertainment development team.
