With contact between husband and wife strictly off limits and the men overseeing every little detail from the flowers, to the cake, the venue and of course the all-important wedding dress . Will these brides be saying I Do or I Don’t when they see what has been planned for their special day?

Down the Garden Path with Dee Hart Dyke (wt): August

Dee Hart Dyke is one of Britain’s best amateur gardeners, a highly experienced and knowledgeable plants woman who never leaves home without the horticultural bible – the National Garden Scheme Handbook. Every year thousands of normal homes open up their gardens to visitors, where the quality of Battenberg and tea can be as important as the bloom.

Dee is of course in the book. She has designed and planted her own garden from scratch over the course of the last 30 years, she still works up to eight hours a day on it and doesn’t like to go on holiday for more than four days at a time in case the garden needs some work.

On the other hand, her daughter, one Miranda Hart, has zero gardening experience, can’t tell her weeds from her weeping figs, and has inherited not one of her Mother’s green fingers - a phenomenon Dee is at a total loss to understand. Across the three part series, Dee will help those trying to open their own gardens for the first time, visit some of the most eclectic on offer, and drop into some celebrity gardens. Miranda will be narrating her Mother’s journey through the nation’s borders.

Eden: August

In March 2016, 23 men and women – including a doctor, a vet, chef, carpenter and shepherdess – left everyday life behind to live with strangers in a remote part of the British Isles. Disillusioned with 21stcentury living, they entered Eden to isolate themselves from the modern world and be given the chance to start again and create a new society from scratch.

Filmed over a year, the programme makers observed from a distance as the cast filmed everything themselves and documented life as it unfolded over 12 months. But were those in Eden able to completely resist the lure of modern living? And without societal constraints was the promise of utopia actually realised, or did life in Eden descend into something that no-one could have predicted?

Escape: September

Your plane has crashed into a light aircraft in the middle of the desert. What happens next? How do you escape? This is the task facing Ant Middleton (SAS: Who Dares Wins, Mutiny) and a team of real life engineers in brand new series Escape.

The series will follow a small group of skilled engineers stranded at a crash site in a hostile environment, away from civilisation. In each episode, engineers will find themselves in a different harsh, dangerous terrain, from desert to jungle, to water to glacier. Ant is on hand to make sure they survive but together the team must make sure they can escape. Surrounded by the wreckage, their only option to escape is to utilise their unique skill set and to build a new vehicle from the debris.

The group will have to work together, against the clock battling their fierce, unforgiving environment, using only tools they can salvage from the debris. Will they be able to build a vehicle to escape before it’s too late?

Masters of Lego (w/t): August

In a first on British TV, Six pairs of LEGO fans of all ages will go head-to-head in the ultimate battle of the brick. Their design and construction skills will be put to the test in a host of colourful and creative challenges. Each week, the teams whose builds wow the expert judges the most will head through to the next round until the grand finale, where one pair will be crowned Britain's most talented amateur LEGO builders.

Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds (w/t): August

Social isolation is one of the biggest problems for the elderly in care homes, with over 60% of residents having never received a single visitor. This has a huge impact on their health, wellbeing and even life expectancy. Based on an existing American scheme, a team of scientists and gerontologists are going to attempt to dramatically improve this by bringing together ten retirement community residents and ten pre-schoolers for six weeks in this new two-part series. The old and young volunteers will share daily activities designed by the three experts – a gerontologist, a geriatrician and a physiotherapist – who will measure and analyse the older groups’ physical and mental progress throughout. At the end of the six week experiment the experts will hope to prove scientifically that bringing these two generations together can transform the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of the old volunteers for the better.

Seven Year Switch: September

Desperate to save their failing relationships four British couples are taking a radical step - swapping partners in a life-changing, high-stakes experiment. The swapped couple will jet off to tropical paradise and spend two weeks living as husband and wife in order to reveal if time spent in a new relationship offers new insight and can help save a doomed one.

Does absence make the heart grow fonder or is the grass greener after all? At the end of the experiment, each of the couples will face the decision of a lifetime – do they want to stay in their long term relationship or have they come to realise that it is simply time to call it a day.

Stage School: E4 - August

Hot on the success of the last series, Stage School returns to E4 for another term. Packed with song and dance routines performed by the talented pupils, the series charts the drama, friendships, ups and downs of life at the stage school.

For the first time this series also sees students from the D&B junior school trying to make their way in the entertainment industry and competing against their older peers for parts in and out of college. The show offers an insight into how much hard work and dedication it takes to make it in show business, where friends are in competition with each other and everyone wants to find fame.

Familiar faces like Pia, Megan, Josh, Leah, Jordi, Luke and Durone return, along with a raft of new talent, like West End show dancers Brooke, Rhianna and Kieran, brother and sister students Lucia and Santino and boyfriend and girlfriend students Alex and Lydia - as well as singers like Hollie, Giles or Vincent - all eager to make their way in the heady world of show business.
