All 4 don't wanna wait...to boxset Dawson's Creek!

Joey, I can grow up, give me a chance, even Spielberg got through his Peter Pan phase!” Dawson Leary

“Dawson, I’m so tired of dancing round these big words!” – Joey Potter

“Ask me to stay.” – Pacey Witter

Dawson’s Creek… The nineties cult-classic that defined a generation, introduced us to the hormone riddled, lexically advanced adolescents of Capeside, and taught us about the mind-bending, heart-shattering rawness of teen love, lust and crucially angst, will launch as a six series boxset on All 4 this November.

Back in 1998, when Dawson (James Van Der Beek) and Pacey (Joshua Jackson) worked in Screenplay Video and could only dream about getting the girl (let alone the invention of digital boxsets) the first series began on Channel 4 and, along with Joey (Katie Holmes) and Jen (Michelle Williams), we became embroiled in the love triangle of the decade.

As Andie (Meredith Monroe) and Jack (Kerr Smith) joined the cast of Kevin Williamson’s hit show it saw some of the biggest TV moments of its era, which paved the way for all teen dramas yet to come. From the first gay kiss on American screens and coming out, to losing your virginity, the struggle with sex, drug addiction and mental health, dealing with the death of a parent and having an affair with a teacher the creek kids covered it all… complete with infamous cry faces that broke our dial-up internet.

Now, nearly twenty years later, the gang won’t be saying goodnight, or goodbye to all the drams, Grams, Doug, Audrey, the middle-parts, THE wall, Joey’s ladder, Abbey Morgan, Miss Jacobs, the bootleg jeans (in fact stonewashed denim in general), the Birkenstocks, the contemporary pop music soundtrack, Henry, Gretchen, Mitch and Gail, the death by ice-cream cone, the twin from Sweet Valley High, Bessie, Bodie, Leary’s Fresh Fish, Potter’s B&B, The Boat House, Junior Prom, Senior Prom, graduation and, most importantly, “True Love”.

Charlie Palmer, All 4 Managing Editor, says, “Like so many others, I grew up with Dawson’s Creek and can vividly remember sitting down to watch it every Tuesday evening… and, more often than not, again on Sunday morning. Scenes, and the theme tune, are etched in the mind. So we’re delighted to offer fans the chance to indulge themselves all over again, and for a new generation to discover it for the very first time.”

Dawson’s Creek is a production of Sony Pictures Television and distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television International. It will be available on All 4 this November.
