Grayson Perry takes over Channel 4 continuity for International Men's Day

Channel 4 will hand control of its continuity mic to internationally renowned, cross dressing artist Grayson Perry to mark International Men’s Day this Sunday (19.11.17).

Grayson will be provide continuity announcements throughout the day on Channel 4 and use his links to encourage men and women to join the conversation around issues effecting men using #InternationalMensDay

His links between programmes will pose a variety of questions questioning what it takes to be a man in the modern world and what are the stigmas and pressures faced by men today.

International Men’s Day is being celebrated in at least 60 countries and aims to raise awareness around issues affecting men and boys such as high suicide rates, shorter life expectancy, being victims of violence and sexual abuse, separation from their children and the negative portrayal of men, boys and fathers.

Women will also be encouraged to get involved in the conversation by sharing the good male role models they’ve experienced in their lives.

Grayson is well placed to pose questions around masculinity, a topic in which he has a keen interest as witnessed in his recent three-part Channel 4 series – Grayson Perry: All Man – which explored the issue in depth.

The specially recorded links will play out across a range of programming throughout International Men’s Day including Sunday Brunch (9.30am), The Simpsons (1pm), Guy’s World War Tank Restoration (8pm) and Gogglebox (10pm).
