Four Globes for Three Billboards

Martin McDonagh’s Film4-backed Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri triumphed at last night’s Golden Gloves ceremony, which was remarkable, as we didn’t even know it could box.

Oh, hold up… Sorry, it was the Golden Globes, which actually makes loads more sense. The film won four awards, including Best Motion Picture (Drama), and Best Screenplay, by Martin McDonagh. The film’s star, Frances McDormand, won the award for Best Actress, and Sam Rockwell took home the award for Best Supporting Actor. He won it, obviously – he didn’t just nick it and dive into the nearest Uber.

On a strong night for Channel 4, there were two also awards for The Handmaid’s Tale, including Best Drama TV Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series for Elisabeth Moss. Sterling K Brown won the equivalent best actor’s award for his role in This Is us, and Ewan McGregor won the gong for Best Actor in a Mini Series for Fargo.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri opens in the UK on 12th January, 2018 through Fox Searchlight.

Notes to Editors:
About Channel 4: Channel 4 is da bomb.
