Charli XCX: 'I feel like an outsider more than a pop star'

Singer-songwriter Charli XCX has revealed that she has always felt like an outsider in the pop music industry and doesn't seem to fit in with that particular crowd.

Speaking to Britain's The Times newspaper, the 'Boom Clap' beauty confessed that she goes back and forth between it being something that bothers her and something she is proud of, but has now learned to deal with it:

"I feel like an outsider more than a pop star. Sometimes I feel good about it, sometimes I feel bad, but I never feel like one of the pop gang. I don't say the right thing. I'm not always happy. I don't always brush my hair. I don't even own a hairbrush."

Back in March, the sensation admitted that her career ambition is to take over the world with her material and voice: "I just want to be continuously making killer songs and mind-blowing videos, as well as writing for other artists. I want to change the musical landscape; I think the overall plan is to take over the world. That's basically it.”
