Charli XCX: 'My whole genre is b*tch-pop'

Charli XCX has joked that her musical genre is "b*tch-pop".

The singer told Australia's Daily Telegraph that being a "b*tch" is the "best", with the outspoken singer stating:

"My whole genre is b*tch-pop. Being a b*tch is the best.

"Even though I probably am [a role model], because certain people look up to me, that's never been an aim of mine.

"But I understand that's a responsibility that comes with the territory, even if you don't ask for it. I'm OK with that, as long as they know I'm definitely gonna make some mistakes along the way."

Charli XCX added that she lives by the virtue of honesty, saying:

"I'm always true to myself in everything I do, so I've tried to base my career on not filtering myself - I find that boring. I don't think people want a puppet, I think they want something real.

"So I always try to say what's on my mind. Sometimes that gets me into a lot of trouble but, you know, c'est la vie!"
