Charli XCX forced to axe concert due to dangerous weather

'Boom Clap' sensation Charli XCX was due to perform live at the Tin Roof in Birmingham, Alabama yesterday but had to cancel the date at the eleventh hour due to a bad storm that damaged her equipment.

The hitmaker took to her official Twitter page much earlier today and apologised for axing the date, but explained that it was important for safety reasons that they didn't go ahead with the show:

"My tour manager just told me that the show in Alabama tonight has to be cancelled due to the storm which has broken some of the equipment. I'm so sorry to everyone who waited in the rain to see me. I am devastated not to be able to play. Please be safe and careful getting home."

She went onto add that she hopes to make it up to fans there in the future: "I will try and come out to meet as many of you as possible. Until next time Alabama."
