Cher Lloyd has revealed that Dolly Parton was one of the reasons why she started singing.

The UK star found fame on the 2010 series of the X Factor and it seems the country icon was one of the reasons why she picked up singing.

Lloyd took part in a Twitter Q&A with fans today (June 11) on MTV UK's account and she was asked who inspired her to sing.

The 'Sticks & Stones' star replied: "Lots of artist inspired me, dolly parton was one of the big ones!!! xxx."

The singer's new album 'Sorry I'm Late' meanwhile will be released in the UK on July 28.

The record - Lloyd's second - will feature tracks such as 'Sirens' and 'I Wish'.
