Cher Lloyd on pressures of fame: 'If you don't let your barrier down, it'll defeat you'

'Swagger Jagger' songstress Cher Lloyd has revealed that it's important to not put up walls in the music industry because that's when you become vulnerable and can crumble.

When asked how she feels about the pressures of fame, Lloyd explained that she has learned to cope but understands it's a very tough environment to thrive in:

"I think I have come to the realisation now that, you've either got to let the barrier down, or things are going to defeat you."

"So you've kind of got to expect to go through certain situations where you feel uncomfortable. You've just got to get over it."

Lloyd went onto add that handling constructive criticism is also tricky, but she knows how important it is to push boundaries and take risks in order to produce the best material possible:

"I think that sometimes the industry can panic and you have to be ready to take a risk, you know. If you're not taking a risk then what you have is boring. You do need to go in and find your magic. I've taken many risks on this album and I didn't need to find any more magic, the album was done, ready and it's a bit of a pain in the arse that it got delayed. It's only my fans that suffer, and they have to wait longer for it. So it should have been brought out earlier."

Her new album, titled 'Sorry I'm Late', is due to be released in the UK on July 28.
