Cher Lloyd's debut album hits US top ten

Cher Lloyd has broken into the top ten of the US albums chart.

The singer has proved a popular figure stateside this year as she becomes the latest British export to become a hit in the US, following in the footsteps of One Direction and The Wanted.

Last week (October 2) Lloyd unveiled her debut album 'Sticks & Stones' in the US - a number of months after its UK release.

It has managed to chart at No.9 on the Billboard 200 Chart with over 30,000 sales.

The upper echelons of the top ten meanwhile evokes a rather British feel, with Muse's new entry 'The 2nd Law' sitting underneath Mumford & Sons' No.1 effort 'Babel'.
