Christina Aguilera confirms 'The Voice' return: 'She will be back to mix things up'

Singing sensation Christina Aguilera left vocal talent show 'The Voice' at the end of last season to welcome the birth of her daughter Summer Rain Rutler in August, but it has now been announced that she will return for the new series that will air in the USA next spring.

Aguilera, who was replaced by No Doubt's Gwen Stefani for this current season, will return for season eight of the hit show to join the other vocal coaches Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Paul Telegdy, the president of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment, confirmed the exciting news in a statement released earlier this afternoon (October 14) and said:

"We are excited to welcome Christina back to her red chair and can't wait to see how she mixes things up among Adam, Blake and Pharrell, in what will be an incredibly competitive competition. These four talented artists are at the top of their game as musicians and as coaches. The mentoring is sure to be intense and the stakes will be high."
