Christina Aguilera and Sienna Miller show support for first US Red Nose Day

Christina Aguilera and Sienna Miller have pledged their support for the first US Red Nose Day.

The fundraising event will take place on May 21 with a three-hour live telethon from New York.

Aguilera and Miller have posed for photos to support the charity event, which started in the UK 30 years ago.

Film man Richard Curtis co-founded the UK Red Nose Day and he will act as an executive producer for the NBC special.

The American version, which will feature sketches and skits, will raise money for charities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the US.

British actress Miller commented on the news: "Red Nose Day is almost like a national holiday in the UK.

"It's a day of real excitement as everyone looks forward to it and the entire country gets involved in some way. I'm thrilled it’s coming to the US!"
