Christina Aguilera will be new judge on 'The Voice'

Christina Aguilera will be one of the judges on a brand new NBC owned television talent competition.

The 'Beautiful' star has been confirmed to appear as a regular panelist on 'The Voice', which will be a singing contest that is set to begin on April 26 in the States. In addition to Aguilera, the show has also scored other top judges in the form of Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

Paul Telegdy, from NBC, said of Aguilera's decision to join the coaching cast:

"Her journey as an artist, who started so young in the music business, will be an inspiration to the talent she coaches on the show,"

Producer of 'The Voice', Mark Burnett, added:

"Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of 'The Voice'."

This news comes just days after Aguilera was arrested in West Hollywood for public intoxication. Watch her incredible performance at the 2011 Grammy Awards here:
