Demi Lovato confirmed for USA gay pride events in New York and Los Angeles

Songstress Demi Lovato has revealed that she will appear and perform at two gay pride events in America this summer.

The 'Neon Lights' beauty will appear at the L.A. Pride Parade as Grand Marshal and will also perform at the event, which will take place on June 8. In addition to that, Lovato will then head to New York at the end of June (29) to headline New York City Pride's Dance on the Pier in Tribeca.

She issued an official statement about the exciting news and admitted that she can't wait to be involved because she is an "active advocate" for the LGBT community:

"It’s such an honour to be a part of both L.A. and NYC Pride celebrations this year. I have been an active advocate of the LGBT community and am wholly committed to supporting individuality and being comfortable in one’s own skin."

She added: "I am thrilled to be a part of both events as they are a wonderful celebration of independence and self-confidence."
