Demi Lovato has 'empowering' opening act on tour

'Neon Lights' beauty Demi Lovato has a special support act (pictured left) on her current tour and she explained that it's important to inspire her fans as well as entertain them.

The songstress asked motivational speaker and author Spencer West to open for her and in a new Facebook post, she explained that she hopes he's empowering and influencing her fans: "This is a different kind of tour and one of the things that makes it so special is my friend, Spencer. I’m so honoured to have him on tour with me sharing his beautiful and empowering message with all of us."

West has also shared a new blog post about being part of the jaunt and admitted that it has been an incredible experience so far: "Two weeks into the tour I still have to pinch myself. I remember going to my first few concerts (I won’t say when that was as it will date me), thinking “man, I would love to do that some day!” Well, that dream has come true and it’s the best of both worlds coming together. Not only do I get to tour with an amazing friend and performer, but Demi is pioneering a new type of rock concert, one that’s not just about music but about social justice too!"

Lovato, meanwhile, took to her official Twitter page last night (September 18) and told her followers that Bea Miller has also joined her world tour's line-up for a select run of dates: "Excited to announce that one of my favourite new artists will be joining the #DEMIWORLDTOUR on a few dates!!!! Please welcome @BeaMiller."
