Demi Lovato supports LGBT anti-bullying campaign

Demi Lovato has stood up for the LGBT community in their plight against bullies.

The singer took to Twitter on Thursday (October 16) to show her support for GLAAD's Spirit Day.

The day aims to raise awareness of bullying against against the LGBT youth.

Lovato posted an image of herself going 'purple' for the day, adding a link to GLAAD's website.

She wrote: "Let's show LGBT youth we've got their backs. Stand up against bullying for #spiritday!"

The Spirit Day website writes: "Observed annually since 2010, individuals, schools, organisations, corporations, and public figures wear purple, which symbolises 'spirit' on the rainbow flag."
