Superstar Demi Lovato shared a brand new music video with her followers earlier today, on Christmas Eve. 

Writing on her official Twitter page this afternoon (December 24), the beauty explained that she shared the video for 'Nightingale' as an early Christmas gift because her fans have given her the 'best year yet':

"Thank you all so much for the most amazing year yet! My Lovatics are truly the best. #Nightingale."

Lovato, meanwhile, is raising money to help fight mental illness this festive period as a way of honouring her late father, Patrick, who died in 2013. Speaking to People magazine about her fundraising efforts, the songstress admitted:

"Mental illness can affect anyone, and although help is available, it often goes untreated. This holiday season, I'm so excited to raise awareness to a cause that is close to my heart by inspiring others to seek the help that they need and encouraging folks to give back to those who can't afford treatment."
