Demi Lovato on reaching breaking point: 'I was living my dream, but still crying'

Superstar Demi Lovato recently launched a new mental health initiative and has opened up about reaching her own breaking point in a new interview.

Speaking to HuffPost Live, the hitmaker confessed that she got to a point where she didn't want to 'be miserable anymore' and started to ask for help:

"They were sensing that I needed help and they came to me, and I... trust the people around me. When I saw what they were talking about, I thought, 'You know what? It's time for me to get help'. I don't want to be miserable anymore. I deserve to have a better life than this."

"I was looking out my tour bus window, I was living my dream, and I was just sitting there, looking out the window and crying, thinking, 'Why am I crying? What's wrong with me?'"

The initiative Lovato has launched was called initiative called Be Vocal: Speak Up For Mental Health and speaking about it recently, the beauty confessed that it's important to start breaking down the stigma:

"It's about speaking up for your community which is taking action, whether it's writing a letter to Congress and telling them how this is affecting you and your life and how you would like to see mental health care more accessible in your community... There's so many different ways you can help. I think together as a country we have to step up and we have to do something about this issue that is becoming quite an epidemic."
