Demi Lovato slams 'Cool For The Summer' criticism

Songstress Demi Lovato has hit back at claims that suggest her new single 'Cool For The Summer' is a rip-off of other pop hits.

Entertainment Tonight posted an article last night (July 1) that says fans are complaining about Lovato's new song because it sounds so much like a mix between a Katy Perry and a Jessie J single ('Domino'). Upon seeing the article, the 'Skyscraper' beauty publicly tweeted at them and slammed the reports:

"@etnow sounds nothing like it ('Domino') and with all the advances we've made in the LGBT community... I think more than one female artist can kiss a girl and like it..."

Speaking to On Air with Ryan this week about 'Cool For The Summer', Lovato admitted that it's more mature and provocative than her previous releases: "It’s basically going to be your song of the summer. It’s very fun, it’s definitely more provocative. I just think the more you listen to it, the more things it can mean."
