Demi Lovato: 'I shouldn't be tied to other people's expectations'

Superstar Demi Lovato has revealed that there's one bad habit she really can't kick.

During a new interview with News.com.au, the 'Cool For The Summer' sensation confessed that she tends to swear a lot although she's mindful not to curse in her songs so that parents don't ban her music from younger fans:

"I curse a lot! The fact I had never cursed in my music was a small example of how I was trying to please parents [of young fans] and be a different woman for them. But if I am feeling like swearing, or wearing certain outfits, I shouldn't be tied to what they want or expect, it's just fun."

Lovato, meanwhile, recently hit out at stores that have taken it upon themselves to censor her Cosmopolitan cover shoot and admitted that it's sad to think that her most confident photoshoot to date has been deemed somewhat inappropriate: "What these individuals who are protesting don't understand is that for the first time in a long time I feel incredibly empowered and the most beautiful I've ever felt on this magazine (cover)."

"It's so liberating to be able to show the world how confident a woman can be once she learns to love herself. It took soul searching and a bit of time before I learned to embrace my body therefore I could not have been more excited to do this shoot. I think what's more important is showing women there's nothing wrong with embracing their bodies and sexuality. I am confident in my own skin and a proud Cosmopolitan cover girl! #unwrapmycosmo."
